AgriTatay: Planting Skills, Harvesting Stability was a capacity-building training for local farmers in Maayon, Capiz. JCI Roxas Halaran held it on April 24, 2025, at the Maayon Municipal Hall, together with its partners and the Maayon LGU.

What farmers learned

The day brought farmers together for learning, sharing and sustainable growth. Sessions covered:

  • sustainable agriculture
  • modern farming techniques
  • livelihood development

The aim was to "sow seeds of knowledge" that would bring long-term stability to farming families and their communities. The chapter's hope is a future where every Filipino farmer thrives, not just in the field but in life.

Heroes of the land

The chapter calls local farmers "our modern-day heroes of the land." The project was tagged under the UN SDGs and the chapter's Lupad Lokal flagship for local communities.

A day for Maayon

AgriTatay was one of two programs the chapter ran in Maayon that day. The other was THE FORGE, a day of mentorship, workshops and open conversations for solo fathers. A year later, the chapter partnered with the LGU of Maayon again for the solo parents' celebration at the Maayon Civic Center.

The chapter's posts do not give the number of farmers who took part. Officers are confirming that figure.
