Bags to School is a national project of JCI Philippines that equips students in remote areas with what they need for school. In 2025, JCI Roxas Halaran focused on children in coastal areas, under the theme "Help Them Learn, Help Them Grow!"

Two schools, two days

On June 5 and June 19, 2025, students of Culasi Elementary School and Dumulog Elementary School in Roxas City received their own JCI bags filled with school supplies. The chapter called the bags "tools of hope", reminders that every child deserves the chance to learn, dream and succeed.

How it was funded

The chapter asked the public to give what they could, with a menu of what each amount would buy:

  • PHP 50: a pen and pad
  • PHP 100: a notebook and pencils
  • PHP 200: a sturdy bag
  • PHP 300: a full school kit for one child

Donations went by GCash to Project Co-Chairperson Raymark B. Bigcas. Proceeds from the chapter's March 2025 symposium, Juan Cares for Juana, also went to Bags to School beneficiaries.

Thank you

The chapter thanks the sponsors and partners who supported the project and made it, in their words, "a success".

The project continued in 2026 as Bags of Hope 2026 at Balaring Elementary School in Ivisan.

Help fill next year's bags. Support the chapter.
