Halaran Night was a fundraising party hosted by JCI Roxas Halaran on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 7:00 PM at Barracuda Bar and Grill, Roxas City. The chapter's invitation called it "an evening of rhythmic beats and social impact." Its recap put it in Hiligaynon: "Nagparty na, nakabulig pa kamo!" You partied and helped at the same time.

The night

DJ Yuki came over from Iloilo, joined by local DJs DJ Andrew and DJ PJ. Tickets were PHP 300, with a complimentary bottle of beer or a cocktail. They were sold from October 27 at Feeka Coffee + Bistro, Luna Coffee and Barracuda. Equal Solutions-Magallanes provided the tickets, and Miko Miguel Hechanova Ramos designed the poster.

Where the money went

Proceeds went to two causes:

  • The Kapayapaan Project, which the chapter describes as the first hip-hop school in the Philippines. It started in 2015, has four chapters including Roxas City, and offers free weekend schooling, breaking and dance lessons for children. Its values are "Peace, Love, and Unity, and Having Fun", and it works to help street children.
  • The chapter's 2024 community projects.

The chapter believes that children are the future, and that investing in them is planting the seeds of tomorrow.

A lasting link

The chapter's support for local hip-hop and DJs has continued. DJ Yuki played the 2026 Sunset Session that began the Komunidad mural, and in 2026 the chapter backed the Sampukanay crew battles.
