On June 30, 2026, JCI Roxas Halaran served as a resource partner for the Men's Mental Health Awareness Month Symposium of Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College, Maya Campus, in Balasan, Iloilo. The college hosted the symposium and invited the chapter to provide speakers.

The talks

LO Secretary John Moses Aposaga gave two talks to the college's students and faculty:

  • "Real Men. Real Battles. Real Faith."
  • "Leadership, Resilience, and Personal Growth for Young Men"

The message was to redefine strength. Strength is not hiding pain. It is having the courage to seek growth, lead with integrity and stand firm in faith.

Why it matters to the chapter

June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, and it is the busiest month of the chapter's Man-Up flagship. The chapter believes that investing in young men builds stronger families and communities, and that men need safe spaces to lead, grow and thrive. This symposium took that message beyond Roxas City to young men in northern Iloilo.

It was not the first visit. In November 2025, during the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, John Moses Aposaga gave a Gender Sensitivity Training to male students and employees at the same campus.

The same month, the chapter also ran the HalaRUN for Juan community run and the 2026 IRONMEN Awards for Man-Up Month.
